Overview

During the Spring 2025 semester, I had the opportunity to work as part of The Agency at Quinnipiac, a student-run organization that partners with real-world clients on marketing, design, and communications projects.

My primary responsibility was the upkeep, redesign, and expansion of the Agency’s official website, which was hosted and managed through Wix. The goal was to not only update the site’s content and client work but also enhance its structure, user experience, and storytelling to better reflect the Agency’s evolving identity and achievements.

Objectives

  • Update and refresh all client-facing pages with past and current projects.

  • Improve the user experience across desktop and mobile platforms.

  • Expand the storytelling around the Agency’s internal teams and process.

  • Add a new interactive section that highlights "Inside the Agency" and team-specific contributions.

  • Address design inconsistencies and layout issues, especially for mobile users.

  • Create a prototype for stakeholder feedback before launching changes live.

Research & Discovery

Before making any updates, I conducted a thorough review of the existing website to identify:

  • Outdated content (clients, alumni, team members)

  • Layout inconsistencies, especially on mobile

  • Opportunities for better storytelling and user flow

I also gathered feedback from current Agency executives to understand pain points, desired improvements, and content priorities.

Ideation & Wireframing

To ensure transparency and collect feedback early, I created a full prototype in Figma that mapped out the planned updates:

  • New layouts for the Work page and Client Detail pages

  • Introduction of an Inside the Agency section for each client

  • Interactive components for navigating between different teams and their contributions

This prototype was shared with Agency leadership and executives to gather approvals and iterate based on their input before development on Wix.

Website Updates & Enhancements

Content Updates:

  • Who We've Worked With: Added and organized past and current clients to accurately represent the Agency’s expanding portfolio.

  • Work Page: For each client, I added new descriptions, project backgrounds, objectives, and visuals that detailed both what the client needed and how the Agency responded.

  • About Page: Updated the current semester’s Agency members, including their names, positions, and majors.

  • Alumni Page: Refreshed the list to honor past members and maintain a strong community legacy.

New Section: Inside the Agency (per Client Page):

  • Introduced a new paragraph called "Inside the Agency" that describes the collaborative work behind each client project.

  • Below, added four team buttons (Creative, Strategy, Account, Digital) — each button reveals:

    • A team photo

    • A “Behind the Magic” paragraph detailing what that team generally contributes to the Agency

    • A gallery showcasing the specific work the team produced for that particular client

UX/UI Improvements:

  • Increased readability on mobile by adjusting font sizes, padding, and margins.

  • Corrected layout issues that caused elements to stack improperly or look unbalanced on smaller devices.

  • Improved overall visual consistency across pages

Launch and Feedback

Once all updates were made and tested, the site was published live. Agency leadership and student members shared positive feedback, highlighting that the site now felt much more professional, dynamic, and reflective of the Agency’s growth and quality of work.

Key Outcomes

  1. Successfully updated over 30 clients with full descriptions and visuals.

  2. Created a new "Inside the Agency" feature to showcase team collaboration in a fun, interactive way.

  3. Enhanced mobile usability, significantly improving accessibility and navigation on phones.

  4. Developed a reusable system for future updates, making it easy for next semester’s students to add new clients and team members.

  5. Strengthened the Agency’s online presence to better impress potential clients, partners, and prospective students.

Reflection & Next Steps

This project was a fantastic opportunity to apply both UX principles and practical web management skills within a real-world, fast-paced environment.

It taught me the importance of balancing design creativity with content strategy—ensuring the site was not just visually improved but also effectively told the story of the Agency’s work and people.

I also gained hands-on experience working with stakeholder feedback cycles, iterating quickly through prototypes, and adapting design systems for existing platforms like Wix.

If I were to continue developing the site, I would explore:

  • Further animation/microinteractions to make navigation feel even more lively

  • Client spotlight case studies to go even deeper into storytelling for select projects

  • Streamlining the mobile experience even further through collapsible sections or optimized button interactions

Special Thanks

A huge thank you to everyone at The Agency at Quinnipiac, especially the client executives and leadership team, for trusting me with this responsibility.

This experience would not have been the same without the collaboration, feedback, and energy of the entire team, and I’m proud to have played a role in representing the amazing work being done.
